The only way to verify a
photo's authenticity
is to use the patented*
VeriPic?
Authentication Technology.
VeriPic?
is the only software on the market that can authenticate photos from
different brands of digital cameras
by examining the photo itself for authenticity. The other brands of competing
software claim to offer authentication, but
what they offer isn't really authentication at all.
Competing authentication software falls into one of the following two basic
types:
- One type just Secures the photo by
making sure that once a photo is entered into the software it can't be
changed. This procedure has a major flaw because anyone can enter a falsified photo
into the software at the beginning. Since
there is no technology used to examine the photo
itself, there is really no technical assurance of it's authenticity.
But, they still claim their software offers authentication but it is really only
securing the photo.
- The other type keeps the History
information on a photo (also known as History Tracking). What this type
of software does is to secure the photo (see above definition) when it
is entered into the system and then allows you to enhance the photo and save second,
third, fourth (and so on), generations of photos under different names.
Claiming that this "History Tracking" actually authenticates the photo because
the software knows the
history of the photo and each enhanced photo derived from the original
photo. While this form of image record keeping is very convenient (and VeriPic
offers the same feature), it is not true
authentication, because the software never examines the original photo entered
into the system to know whether it was authentic in the first place.
Again, anyone could have
entered a fake photo into this software and claim the fake photo
is authentic!
Because the
VeriPic?
Authentication Technology software authenticates the photos when the
images are taken and transferred into the
software, it is impossible to alter the photo without detection after
the photo has been taken and stored in the
VeriPic
software system.
VeriPic?
Authentication Technology
works with multiple
camera brands including: Canon, Epson, FujiFilm, HP, Kodak, Konica,
Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic, Sony, and Toshiba.
And, for those cameras not currently supported, custom drivers can be
created.
Red Queen Software is a business partner authorized to sell the
